Lady Devils bring championship trophy home

PRESIDIO – Two Presidio Lady Blue Devil cross country teams took the championships at the Mountain Ramble last week at Paisano Baptist Encampment between Marfa and Alpine. The varsity team finished first with 40 points and student athletes placing in the top five finishers, Ivertt Ramos in first and Crystal Barriga came in fourth. The JV team finished second with 27 points, and the middle school girls finished 4th with 127 points. “The Lady Devils cross country teams ran great and finished as team champions in 2 of the 3 races,” said Coach Alonzo Samaniego. The high school teams will travel to Odessa this Thursday and compete in the Odessa Invitational for a final tune-up right before the district meet. The middle school girls will have the week off.
