The City of Presidio Librarian and staff hosted the annual Halloween Costume Contest on Tuesday. “I would like to acknowledge all the parents and children who participated in this year’s contest,” said Librarian Carmen Elguezabal. Costume Contest winners were: Sebastian Brito for Most Original costume, Brian Salgado was the Funniest Costume, Jessie D. Dotter garnered the Best All Around prize and Juan Muñiz was the Scariest. Judging the costume contest were Gracie Parras with the Presidio County Sheriff’s office, Presidio County Treasurer Frances Garcia, former PISD Superintendent Dennis McEntire, Omar Morales of Redford and Raquel Williams with the Mexican Consulate in Presidio. Student volunteer Miguel Angel Ornelas was on hand to help. The storybook Halloween Night by Marjorie Dennis Murray was read aloud by student Liem R. Dotter and Mrs. V. Dotter who donated the judge’s buttons made by her. She also donated delicious cupcake for the Judges to enjoy. All in attendance were treated to treats (apples) donated by Porter’s Thrift-way, juices donated by Ms. Elguezabal, and Subway gift cards prizes were donated by Mr. Terry Bishop. Thanks to Mr. Dennis McEntire for his kind donation. “Thank you all for your continued support of the City of Presidio Library,” said Elguezabal.
