Heart screening at Presidio ISD next Wednesday and Thursday

PRESIDIO – PISD will host a heart screening drive, free for Presidio ISD students 7th – 12th grades and $20 for adults.

The screenings will take place in the Presidio High School Gymnasium and LRFMS agility room, Wednesday November 14th and Thursday November 15th at 8 a.m.

An ECG (electrocardiogram) will be used for the screening. The screening is painless and only takes about 5 minutes.

All students must have a signed consent form to participate. Forms were sent home with students. Additional permission forms and adult participation forms are located at the main offices of the Presidio High School.

Coach Ruth McWilliams can be contacted for more information at 432-229-1115. Results will be mailed to the address provided on permission forms.

Presidio ISD is encouraging all students to take advantage of the free screening for heart health.

The Cody Stephens Go Big or Go Home Memorial Foundation sponsors the event. Cody Stephens died in 2012 from an undiagnosed heart issue and his family started this foundation to make sure other families don’t have to experience that pain.
