City Council meets this evening, maybe

PRESIDIO – The Presidio City Council is set to meet today at 5:45pm at a special meeting to canvass the May 4 election votes, followed by a special called meeting at 6pm.

The City Council hasn’t met since March 27 because of a lack of quorum.

The hope is that a quorum will be met today so that the two new councilmen, Irvin Olivas and Rogelio Zubia, will be sworn in and hopefully alleviate the problem of not meeting a quorum for regular meetings.

The 2016-2017 audit is scheduled to be presented by Painter and Associates P.C. and other

agenda items on the special called meeting include a public hearing on a Texas Department of Agriculture Texas Community Development Block Grant (Tx-CDBG) for fire, ambulance and service trucks, as well as an item to select a grant administrator for the TxCDBG.

The Presidio County Underground Water Conservation District will have an introductory presentation at the meeting and discussion/action to select and approve The International newspaper as the official newspaper of record are agenda items.

Advance funding for an agreement between the City and Tx-DOT for street improvements will be discussed and acted upon as well as accepting and approving three Presidio Municipal Development District appointments.

The two meetings will be held at the Presidio Activity Center located at 507 W O’Reilly Street in Presidio.
