ALPINE – A convicted sex offender was apprehended by U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Alpine Station. The apprehension was made as a result of agents responding to information provided by the Brewster County Sheriff Office.
Patrol Agent in Charge of the Alpine Station Roberto Dominguez said, “Our partnership with the Brewster County Sheriff’s Office along with our agents’ vigilance and hard work led to the successful apprehension of this individual. This American families and unaccompanied children, the Border Patrol said. All of those detained were taken into custody for processing to include initial medical screenings. They will remain in U.S. Border Patrol custody until they are processed accordingly. This fiscal year to date the El Paso Sector has detained more than 130,000 migrants, compared to more than 16,000 during the same time last fiscal year. The numbers continue to rise and agents see no end in sight for this current situation.
