AMLO Mexican president to visit Ojinaga on Friday
OJINAGA, Chih., Mexico – In a morning conference this week, Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador announced his visit to the border city of Ojinaga. His visit to the border community will take place this Friday, June 14, at the municipal main square at about 5pm (6pm Central Daylight Savings Time). The president indicated that the main objective of his visit is to disclose the budget that the government will allocate to the states of the region in order to deal with the migratory phenomenon. The president also says he wants to reinforce the plan that the current government agreed upon with the United States to lower the flow of migrants from Central America. Lopez Obrador will take advantage of his visit by meeting with border entities in order to reinforce the program that will be launched in the area.
First Marfa Cleanup day is Saturday
MARFA – On Saturday, June 15 and again on Saturday, June 22, the city hosts Marfa Cleanup day and will be accepting bulky waste for disposal free of charge – until six roll-off containers are packed full. Residents will be given first priority to get rid of their large household items (old furniture, appliances, etc. Electronics, and hazardous or contractor waste won’t be accepted. For individuals who are physically able, please bring your bulky items to the Marfa Receiving and Recycling Center from 9am-1pm. For those who will need assistance, please call Lori Flores at City Hall 432-729-4315 so volunteers can know to come pick them up from you. Aggie exes chapter forming in area
FAR WEST TEXAS – A Texas A&M graduate is hoping to charter an Aggie Club in West Texas.
