FORT DAVIS – The Food Pantry will be hosting its scrumptious Pie Contest on Saturday, July 6th, during the Coolest 4th celebration in Fort Davis. Please deliver your favorite non-refrigerator pie(s) from 8-10am to the Pantry’s booth located at the southwest corner of the Jeff Davis County Courthouse.
Judging will be conducted between 9-11am. Following the parade, around 11am, we will announce the winning pies, award prizes to the winning bakers, and begin selling slices of pie. All flavors of pies will be accepted; however, no refrigerator pies can be accepted.
Our Annual Raffle includes gift certificates from several of your favorite grocery stores, such as Blue Water Natural Foods, restaurants such as Buns and Roses, and businesses such as Big Bend Coffee Roasters.
As always, there will be many lucky winners during the drawing, which will be held late on Saturday, July 6th! Raffle tickets will be sold on various days at the Fort Davis Post Office and at the Food Pantry Booth during the Coolest 4th event – be sure to look for us!
All funds raised during the Annual Pie Contest and Raffle directly support the Food Pantry of JDC, a non-profit 501(c)3 organization and equal opportunity employer, which is dedicated to providing nutritious food to food-insecure households in Jeff Davis County.
