FORT DAVIS – The Fort Davis Chamber of Commerce is leading a petition drive to place an issue onto the November 2019 General Election Ballot for the authorization by Jeff Davis County residents to unify alcohol sales ordinances in all four precincts.
Currently, the Texas alcohol laws in Jeff Davis County vary by precinct. The aim of the unification is to legalize all alcohol sales and mixed beverage sales in all four precincts.
Only new businesses would be impacted and would be subject to current Texas Alcohol Beverage Commission policies.
As for established alcohol retailers, nothing would change unless those individuals re-applied for a different TABC permit.
Only registered voters of Jeff Davis County will be counted as valid signatures.
