As you go along in life in your early sixties, you think you can lift the world.
One doctors visit, the first in 33 years, and your whole world comes to a halt.
Who? You? Join the “C club.” It was meant to be. Your two brothers were charter members.
They put tubes in you and put you into tubes. All the tests in tubes, literally. The blood drawn, the tubes attached to you.
Then it all comes down to sitting in the Sad Room. Rule one for C club members: you get to sit in the Sad Room.
Today you took a Club visit to the Sad Room—every C Club member gets to do their time. No one smiles in the Sad Room, no one looks at you. You’re all in the same boat.
What will it be like in the Sad Room when you go in for real? Your thoughts? Are you afraid? The Sad Room is there to help you, they say.
