PRESIDIO COUNTY – A severely decomposed body was found on July 27 just a few miles outside of Presidio says Chief Deputy Joel Nuñez of the Presidio County Sheriff’s Department. The body has yet to be claimed or identified. The deceased male is likely to be 30 to 40 years old and thought to be Hispanic.

He was found at an old packing shed owned by the Armendariz family on FM 170. The Sheriff’s department believes the man was dehydrated and removed his clothing to cool off, eventually finding shade beneath the roof of the packing plant where he died from the elements. A definitive cause of death cannot be confirmed until the medical examiner in Lubbock delivers the autopsy. No clothing, identification, shoes or evidence were found at the scene and no foul play is suspected.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Nuñez at the Sheriff’s department at 432-729-4848.
