PRESIDIO — At the Lubbock Invitational event at Mae Simmons Park last weekend, the Presidio Blue Devils cross-country team once again won accolades.
The Blue Devils finished first out of 21 teams, trailed closely by the Crane Golden Cranes (second in the state) and the Tornillo Coyotes (fourth). Both are in the same district as the Blue Devils.
In individual results, Marco Rey finished second place at just under 17 minutes. Angel Leyva and Emiliano Valenzuela finished eighth and ninth, respectively, at over 17 minutes.
The Blue Devils’ next competition is Saturday, October 5, in Alpine.
Then, on Wednesday, October 16, the Blue Devils will once again face off against the Golden Cranes and the Coyotes at the district meet in Crane.
