Presidio cross-country leave district meet in good standing

PRESIDIO — The Presidio cross-country teams are continuing their winning streak.

At a District XC meet last week, both the junior high boys and the junior varsity boys teams finished as champions. On the junior high side, Eddie Flores finished unbeaten for the 2019 season.

In a close race, the varsity boys finished 3rd place at the Regional Cross-Country Meet in Lubbock, right behind Crane and Tornillo. Marco Rey was crowned 2019 Varsity District Champion, after he ran a personal best of 16:17.

At a district meet in Crane, the varsity girls were crowned district champions for the third year in a row. If all goes as anticipated, they could qualify for the state meet in Round Rock.

On Monday, October 28, the Lady Devils and the Blue Devils will compete in the Regionals Cross Country Meet at Mae Simmons Park, MLK Blvd & 24th Street in Lubbock.  The girls varsity race will begin at 11:00 a.m. and the boys will follow at 11:30 a.m.
