MARFA — The Dollar General Literacy Foundation recently awarded Marfa Public Library a $2,000 grant to support summer literacy. This local grant is part of more than $8.6 million in grants awarded to more than 950 schools, nonprofits and organizations in communities where Dollar General operates.
“We’re thrilled to have the support of the Dollar General Literacy foundation for our Summer Reading Program,” said Community Services Director Mandy Roane. “Our events will be online and pick-up programs, and these funds will help us do as much as possible for all of our patrons.”
Marfa Public Library will use the Literacy Foundation funds to help support Summer Reading with an updated and engaging online tracking program, gift certificates for participants who reach their reading goals, exciting new books and materials and supplies for at-home programming.
