PRESIDIO – The Presidio Blue Devils and Lady Devils competed at the Area Track Meet at Sonora on Tuesday April 16, and several student athletes represented our community extremely well, advancing to the Region 1-3A Regional Qualifiers Track and Field Meet on Friday and Saturday in Abilene. Please congratulate the following students when you see them: Field Events Daniela Valenzuela was the Long Jump Area Champion with a jump of 17’ 11”. She competes at noon on Friday. Daniela was also the triple Jump Area Champion with a jump of 37’ 2.5”. She competes at noon on Saturday. Endrik Reynoso was the High Jump Area Champion with a jump of 5’ 10”. He competes at noon on Saturday. Running Events The girls 4×100 relay quartet are Area Champions with a time of 50.51: Jasmine Sotelo, Daniela Valenzuela, Nicole Felix, Davinia Mireles. Prelims at 2pm Friday, finals at 2pm Saturday. Marco Rey got 2nd place in the 800-meter Run with a time of 2:03.82. The finals are Saturday at 2:10pm. Manuel Bustamante got 3rd Place in the 100-meter Dash with a time of 11.07. Prelims are Friday about 2:35pm; finals at 2:45pm Saturday. The girls 4×200-meter relay team is Area Champion with a time of 1:46.69: Jasmine Sotelo, Daniela Valenzuela, Nicole Felix, Davinia Mireles. Prelims Friday about 2:45pm, finals Saturday about 2:55pm. The girls 4×400-meter relay team placed 2nd with a time of 4:00.99: Davinia Mireles, Alejandra Valles, Nicole Felix, Daniela Valenzuela. Prelims are Friday about 3:50pm, Finals on Saturday at 4pm. The boys 4×400-meter relays foursome placed 3rd Place with a time of 3:26.16: Manuel Bustamante, Oscar Moreno, Emiliano Valenzuela, Endrik Reynoso. Prelims Friday at about 3:50pm, Finals on Saturday at 4pm.
