MARFA – Marfa cheerleaders need to raise funds to attend cheer camp later this summer, and they have a bake sale on Saturday, a cheer performance on Sunday, and an upcoming cheer camp as well. The bake sale is from 8:30-11:30am Saturday at City Hall and Porter’s. Please buy a treat or make a donation. On Sunday, Cheer Marfa, the Junior High and Varsity Shorthorn cheerleading squads, open for a performance of the Dresden Collective Marfa theater group. The fun begins at 4pm Sunday at the Hotel Paisano ballroom, and where they’ll pass the hat for donations. The Marfa Cheerleaders’ Mini-Cheer Camp is from 5-7pm Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, July 15-17 at Hibbitts Gym. This is an annual event for rising Pre-K-6th grade girls and boys which focuses on team building, cheer routines, fun and SHORTHORN pride. Mini-Cheerleaders will cheer at all HOME football game halftime shows. Raise ‘em right: Once a Shorthorn, always a Shorthorn! Registration forms are available at both the Elementary and High School reception desks, posted at Porter’s, and in person on Saturday at the bake sale and cheer performance.
