Blue Devils and Lady Devils cross country teams advance to state

The Blue Devils made school history on Monday by winning the Region I Championship in Lubbock for the 1st time.  It was a very close race between the #2 state ranked Tornillo team and Presidio.  This race was decided by only one point.  A total of 24 teams and 180 runners competed at the Regional level.

Meanwhile, the Lady Devils are headed back to the annual state meet. This will be the 2nd time in 3 years that the Lady Devils will be competing in the state cross country meet. The girls really stepped up at the district meet last week and the momentum carried over into the regional meet. Region 1 is one of the toughest in the state. Last year we missed out on advancing to the state meet by 6 points.

The Blue Devils and Lady Devils both qualified to the State XC meet at Round Rock the weekend of November 9.
