MARFA – Everyone is invited to Chinati Weekend 2018, Friday-Sunday, October 5-7. This year, the Chinati Foundation is proud to announce that the great songwriter and musician Rosanne Cash will perform in front of the Presidio County Courthouse on Saturday night. Acclaimed playwright Richard Maxwell will present a performance work during the weekend as a culmination of his summer residency at Chinati. And we will continue to celebrate the extraordinary wall painting by Bridget Riley, encompassing the entirety of the special exhibition gallery, that was inaugurated last year. As always, there will be open viewing of the permanent collection, scholarly talks, and other programming. All exhibitions, collection viewing, music and performances are free of charge. On Saturday night, a dinner to benefit Chinati will be held in the Arena. The benefit dinner is Chinati’s largest fundraising event of the year and helps support not only Chinati Weekend exhibitions and programs but also the museum’s general operations year-round.
