PRESIDIO — The City of Presidio General Election is scheduled for Saturday, May 2, 2020. Three at-large council positions are open this election season. The terms of councilmembers Antonio Manriquez, Samuel Carrasco and current Mayor Pro Tem Alcee Tavarez’ are all expiring. Each of the three council members can seek re-election, though none have filed to run as of press time.
No incumbents or challengers have filed to run in the May election so far, according to Presidio City Administrator Joe Portillo. The filing window opened January 15 and the deadline to apply to run is Friday, February 14.
Candidate-filing applications are available at Presidio City Hall, and interested applicants can visit City Secretary Brenda Ornelas-Acuña to pick up a packet or submit a completed packet for notarization.
