MARFA — The Rotary Club of Marfa has announced that, with the approval of a Rotary District 5520 grant, the club will be awarding one $3,000 student scholarship this year. The club is also awarding six $1,000 scholarships. The club has selected Tais Chanez as the recipient of the $3,000 award. The $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to each of the following students: Jarad Forristal, Isabella Morales, Kimberly Soto, Jared Fuentes, Angelica Quinonez and Norma Hernandez.
The club supports the youth of Marfa as one of their “most important community projects.” The club would like to thank all of the citizens and businesses in Marfa who have purchased raffle tickets, participated in their golf tournament and supported the Rotary Club in this community for almost 100 years.
